The Numbers
Liberals moving deeper into majority territory
- Liberals 41.2% / Conservatives 37.6% / NDP 8.9% / BQ 6.1% / Green 2.9% / PPC 2.2%
» The Liberals continue to rise in the polls and widen their lead. The Conservatives have more support than they did in the last election and are holding steady in the polls. However, they are no closer to forming government as the NDP and Bloc vote shifts to the Liberals, who are consolidating their position as the heavy favourite to win an election if one were held today. (CBC Poll Tracker – March 29, 2025)
- Éric Grenier » “Since the writ drop on Sunday, the Liberals have picked up 3.7 points in the polling average, making them the big winners of the first week of this campaign. The Conservatives are up 0.5 points. While that’s growth for Pierre Poilievre, the net effect is that the Liberal lead has widened by more than three points. The NDP has slipped 2.5 points over the last week and the Greens are down 0.9 points. The Bloc Québécois is down just under two points in Quebec, while the People’s Party hasn’t budged.”

» Poilievre’s dysfunctional’ campaign and ‘civil war’ in the Conservative Party
As Conservative infighting over how the campaign is handling Trump’s tariff threats spills into the open, sources within the party are describing a “dysfunctional” campaign with too much centralized power and belittling and aggressive treatment of staff. More than half a dozen Conservatives, who spoke to CBC News on the condition they not be named for fear of retribution, describe a campaign that is “highly disorganized” and “a mess.” The sources include individuals both inside and outside the campaign.
