Lighthizer sounds more bully than friend. That the US is seeking the support from allies to side with them in their trade war against China, after months of bullying and publically bashing these same allies, demonstrates a level of disorganizing and the lack of a clear forethought and planning that would not be acceptable at a little league pre-season baseball game.
