PM Carney says the review of F-35 fighter jet purchase will be completed by end of summer

Prime Minister Mark Carney in March ordered a review of the C$19-billion ($13.29 billion) contract for 88 F-35 fighter jets from Lockheed Martin as Canada was locked in a trade war with the US and looked to diversify defense spending. Canada’s defense ministry has said Ottawa already made a legal commitment of funds for the first 16 F-35 aircraft.
